Consultation
At Face Medical, we always make sure that we hold an in-depth consultation with all of our patients before recommending a treatment or the purchase of suitable skincare products from us. By doing this, we gain a greater understanding of your individual requirements and will work alongside you to create a bespoke treatment plan that is best suited to your needs. Our chemical face peels are medical grade, meaning they can only be carried out by skincare professionals. This ensures that we take every appropriate measure to determine whether the chemical peels we offer are right for you and your skin, and reduce the risk of adverse after effects.
Types of chemical peel
As a means of helping you to achieve brighter, softer and smoother skin, The Perfect Peel and the Superblend Peel work to stimulate the skin at both an epidermal and dermal level to enact a positive change in skin function and improve the rate at which it renews itself. To achieve these outcomes, our skincare experts specialise in performing both of these chemical peels, which are tailored to meet your needs and can vary in strength and intensity, depending on your desired results.
For mild to moderate concerns such as: slight skin discolouration, dull-looking skin, acne, acne scarring, enlarged pores, facial wrinkles and an uneven texture, we often recommend the Superblend Peel. This is a light to medium peel that focuses on the exfoliation of both the inner and outermost layers of skin, and is a pain-free treatment that delivers noticeable results within 7 days. The unique formula of the Perfect Peel is great for targeting the conditions that arise from damage by sun exposure and pollution, as well as the natural effects of ageing. Your complexion can start to look younger and healthier after just 1 treatment session. With both these peels we may recommend up to 4 treatment sessions to achieve optimal results.
Chemical face peels are proven to be safe and effective when performed by a trained professional. They work by removing specific layers of the skin to enhance the exfoliation process and trigger a healing response within the skin. To nourish the skin we may also incorporate the use of medical grade skincare, which can be continued through a recommended at-home skincare regime.
After-effects
The after-effects of your treatment will differ depending on its intensity, and the practitioner carrying out your chemical peel will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions at the end of your appointment. The great thing about The Perfect Peel and the Superblend Peel is that they are an advanced formulation that doesn’t cause any discomfort during the treatment. You will also find that these face peels do not incur a lot of recovery time (if any), and you should be free to go about your routine as normal in the hours after treatment. You can expect your skin to begin peeling around 3 days after the treatment. This is a normal response and is an indication that the peel has worked and exfoliation is taking place. We don’t expect flaking to be very significant, and may even be barely noticeable to others.
