Consultation

The first step before undergoing any treatment at Face Medical is a thorough consultation. A member of our expert aesthetics team, led by Deborah Vines, will assess the current condition of the skin so that treatments may be accurately tailored for your unique needs. Not only does this ensure the very best results, based on each individual’s own requirements, but allows the patient to communicate their desires with our practitioners, allowing us to manage expectations and recommend the best course of action for achieving their goals. Profhilo® is an injectable moisturiser and is recommended for patients who are looking to eradicate early signs of ageing within the skin. It provides an all-over boost to the skin, so for treatment targeted towards specific areas, alternatives such as dermal fillers may be suggested.

Procedure

Profhilo® contains the highest concentration of ultrapure Hyaluronic Acid, a substance the body makes naturally, but that depletes within the skin as we get older. Hyaluronic Acid is responsible for maintaining moisture and hydration, and encourages the production of reparative proteins collagen and elastin. During treatment, the Profhilo® formula is injected just below the surface of the skin. This boosts hydration and stimulates the skin’s repair function, providing an instant, subtle, yet naturally flawless improvement to the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging, and skin tone and texture. Profhilo® is commonly used to rejuvenate the face, neck, arms, décolletage and hands. 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart and a third 6 months later will be necessary to see the full benefits of treatment.

Aftercare

Profhilo® is a non-invasive injectable procedure that carries minimal risk and many patients are able to resume everyday activities immediately post-treatment. Full aftercare advice will be provided in clinic, but patients should be aware that makeup should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment, and patients should not undergo rigorous exercise or expose the skin to extreme temperatures during this time. Patients may experiences small lumps at the site of injection, accompanied by redness, swelling, and bruising. This should subside quickly. Results may last for up to 6 months, after which, repeat treatment is recommended to ensure results are maintained.

FAQs

Will I see results straight away?

Patients will not notice an immediate improvement in the skin as collagen and elastin proteins need time to replenish, it may take up to 4 weeks for the effects of treatment to be evident.

Am I a Candidate for Profhilo®

Profhilo® is capable of treating a host of facial concerns, and there is no upper age limit, making it suitable for most patients looking to combat signs of ageing. However, it should be avoided by those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Full suitability for Profhilo® treatment will be assessed at your consultation.

What is the cost of Profhilo ?
