Before we begin your new fat loss regime, we will need to carry out a consultation. For many men and women, both losing and sustaining the loss can affect them for both the short and long term. At Face Medical we understand how frustrating this can be and for those who have spent many years trying to do the right thing, how this can also be an emotional issue. We recognise that everyone feels differently about their appearance, and we are aware that feeling unhappy with the shape of your body can impact your confidence and your overall well-being.
By discussing your lifestyle it can give us an insight into possible causes of excess fat in the body and what changes may be needed, moving forward. We’ll need to begin by assessing your general health and medical history, as well as using the Styku 3D body scanner to take body measurements and analyse the volume of fat in your body, to help establish your end goal. The Styku 3D body scanner requires you to stand on the turntable which rotates in 35 seconds. A 3D image of your body is taken which can be used to track your progress and show how the shape of your body has transformed. The machine is accurate to within 2mm.

Individual Treatment Programme

Each treatment has its own individual programme, based on the results you desire. The Emerald Laser is carried out in a series of around 6 – 10 sessions, with your individual size and shape determining the course which is most suitable for you. The procedure itself is simple, and involves having the device placed over the body, emitting green light from 10 laser diodes that move around on the skin. The lasers target the fat cells, creating a pore in the cell wall which enables the fat to leak out so it can be used up naturally by the body, or flushed out through the lymphatic system. Emerald can address both large and small areas of the face and body, treating the front and back of the chosen region in one 30 minute session (15 minutes on each side).
The Emerald Laser is becoming very popular with patients due to its quick, easy and pain free experience. Treatments are usually carried out at weekly intervals, with body measurements taken at weeks 1, 5 and 10. Many patients have had successful results when using Emerald alongside a healthy lifestyle, having lost an average of 6 – 8 inches after one course. It’s important to note that losing fat does not always mean losing weight, as a healthier and more active lifestyle can increase muscle mass. Whether or not you lose ‘weight’ will depend on how much fat is lost.

As the lymphatic system plays a big part in removing unwanted / excess fat from the body, Face Medical incorporates the use of the Body Balancer within the treatment programme. Following the Emerald Laser treatment session, you may be asked to get inside the suit which covers the legs and torso. The device may be activated for up to 30 minutes, applying pressure to the body as the suit inflates and deflates. This action encourages the lymphatic system to work more efficiently, as well as helping to increase overall circulation. This process can also help to reduce the appearance of cellulite, and tone and smooth the skin.

As Emerald helps to release fat from the cells, you will need to ensure that it doesn’t have the chance to reattach itself. Putting your body into a calorie deficit helps excess fat (including the fat that has been released into your system) to be used as energy, and regular exercise will help with burning it off. Ensuring your body keeps moving and drinking plenty of water enables the lymphatic system to flush out the stubborn fat, and with Emerald we ask that you do this by drinking around 2 litres of water per day – especially in the 3 days that follow the treatment.
