Anti-wrinkle injections are the most popular cosmetic treatment in the UK for the removal and reduction of wrinkles. If you want to soften facial lines and wrinkles, but without looking unnatural, then this is definitely something we can achieve with this treatment at Face Medical Clinic.

Our wrinkle relaxing injections are Botulinum Toxin injections, which is a prescription only medication that can be administered only by doctors, nurses or dentists. With an anti-wrinkle injectable product from Allergan we can not only treat fine lines and wrinkles, but also help to reduce excessive sweating. Wrinkle relaxing injections can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers, in what is usually referred to as a “non-surgical facelift”.

Procedure

The only wrinkle relaxing injectable products we use at the Face Medical Clinic is by Allergan, which we feel is the best on the market. It works by partially blocking the nerve impulses, and temporarily relaxes the muscles within the treated area.

Most commonly, wrinkle relaxing injections are required around the eyes, in the forehead and in-between the eyebrows. The procedure is quick and simple, and only takes about 10-15 minutes at Face Medical Clinic. Effects last 3-4 months, after which a top up treatment will be required if you want to maintain great results.

Aftercare

At the Face Medical Clinic, our highly experienced and well qualified team will always provide you with comprehensive aftercare advice before you leave the clinic after your wrinkle relaxing treatment.

Side effects are very uncommon, but it is possible to experience slight swelling at the injection site, with the chance of a little bruising too. If the unlikely event that you do bruise post treatment, this can often be easily disguised with a little makeup.

What are the associated side effects with anti-wrinkle injections?

As mentioned above, it is unlikely you will develop any significant side effects. You may experience slight swelling at the injection site and occasionally some bruising, which can be easily disguised with makeup. Some clients experience mild headaches or flu-like symptoms that can easily be treated with paracetamol and antihistamines.

Can anyone have anti-wrinkle injection treatments?

Botulinum Toxin should not be used if you have a skin infection or skin disease near the injection site. Patients who are breastfeeding or pregnant should also not have Toxin. It is not recommended for anyone with a known sensitivity to Toxin or individuals who are taking certain antibiotics.

Anti-wrinkle injections are priced per area, with prices starting from £165 for one area, £195 for two and £225 for three areas.
