Dermalux treatment provides a non-invasive way to repair and revitalise the skin. It is pain free and the visible effects are immediate. After a single session the skin is hydrated and irritation is calmed.
The Dermalux light therapy creates a natural photo-biological reaction that can reverse the visible signs of ageing, clear acne and blemishes, and accelerate healing. And results can be enhanced when used in combination with other treatments which is where the specialist advice available at Face Medical really pays off.
Although more than 100 years old, only recently has LED therapy been approved for treatment. It is rapidly becoming the skin care treatment ofr choice in the beauty industry.
Which conditions can Dermalux treat?
There are two types of LED light that are used in the Dermalux treatment. Red LED Light minimises fine lines and wrinkles to give smoother skin with more even skin tones. An increase in hydration can have a soothing effect as blood circulation is stimulated and the healing process is stimulated.
Blue LED light is used for Acne and Congested Skin treatment. Blue light has anti-bacterial properties that purify acne and problematic skin by normalising oil production. This is an alternative to medication in many cases.
Blue light can also help in the treatment of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), producing a ‘botox’ type of effect in the skin. It is effective in the treatment of bacterial and viral infections such as cold sores and helps to safe guard against bacterial reaction when used in combination with other procedures.
Combined red and blue LED light is used for sensitive and problematic skin and is one of the most effective treatments for inflammatory acne and scarring as it reduces inflammation and swelling.
The final type of light used is infra red LED light which is able to tackle deeper lines and wrinkles, skin density and uneven skin tone and texture problems. This would include problems such as age spots and photo and environmental damage along with advanced Acne conditions. It can also be used for several other problems such as muscular strains, joint pain, inflammation, swelling and bruising, poor circulation, wound healing, scar reduction including burns and ulcers and stretch marks.
Infra red LED light can penetrate the skin to a depth of up to 40 millimetres. Most beneficial changes post-treatment occur naturally over a period of time. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve the desired outcome and results may continue to improve up to 4 to 6 weeks after a course has finished.
