The area around your eyes tends to be far more delicate than the rest of your face due to the thickness of the skin. The skin on your eyelids is in fact the thinnest compared to anywhere else on your body, at just 0.5mm in thickness on average. This is why your eyes often tend to show the signs of ageing much sooner than other areas of your face. The skin is more susceptible to wrinkles and fine lines as a result of sun damage and the effects of ageing over time.
Get in TouchSkin gradually loses laxity as the production of collagen and elastin starts to slow down, only fuelled by UV damage penetrating deep into the skin. The result is the formation of wrinkles in the outer corners of the eyes, commonly known as “crow’s feet.”
At the Face Medical Clinic, we often treat crow’s feet with wrinkle relaxing injections, such as Botulinum Toxin.
