Lip Fillers

Introduction to Lip Fillers

Whether through genetics or the process of ageing, there are many reasons why we may want to enhance our lip area. Many patients that we see at the Face Medical Clinic are seeking a lip enhancement with dermal fillers to naturally restore what they begin to lose when we age.

Lip fillers have become incredibly popular in the media over the last few years, and are often desired in order to create a fuller, yet still natural look. Fillers are non permanent, and naturally absorbed over time, which is another reason why they have become so sought after. Lip fillers can last from 6-12 months, depending on the individual and the amount of dermal filler administered.

Consultation

No matter what treatment you are looking for, we always ask our patients to come for an initial, complimentary, bespoke consultation and skin analysis with Deborah Vines, our Founder and highly experienced, expert Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner. This bespoke consultation allows us to look deeper into your skin and its individual portfolio, which can help us to provide an appropriate, customised treatment plan, tailored with your requirements and expectations in mind.

When you come to see us at Face Medical Clinic in Heywood, Manchester, you will instantly recognise that we pride ourselves in creating a personal, top quality and professional client experience – every time.

Procedure

The dermal filler products that we use at Face Medical Clinic have been hand-picked and carefully selected on the basis of their safety record, extensive clinical testing and consistent, high end results. Currently, we use Juvederm Vycross and the Juvederm Ultra Range. All of these products are crystal clear, and biodegradable gel-based on hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that occurs in the human body.

The treatment itself is non-surgical and involves the injectable filler being applied to the lips to alter the shape, size, or plumpness, depending on the desired results. The treatment duration lasts up to 30 minutes, and our patients at Face Medical Clinic review that the pain is minimal during the procedure. If you are worried about feeling uncomfortable, we can provide a local anaesthetic solution prior to your treatment which will further minimise any associated discomfort.

The filler will be injected using a very fine needle, or a cannula, and the results are instantly noticeable. Lip fillers at the Face Medical Clinic produce a long lasting, natural enhancement that is both gentle and safe to your skin.

Aftercare

At the Face Medical Clinic, our highly experienced and well qualified team will always provide you with in-depth, aftercare advice before you leave the clinic after your treatment.

Many of our patients don’t report any side effects after lip filler treatment, but sometimes you may experience a mild burning sensation immediately post-injections. It is also possible to experience redness, bruising or swelling around the lip area, which should subside within 24-48 hours post-treatment. If you are worried about any swelling, bruising or redness at any time after your treatment, please let us know; our team are always on-hand to give expert advice, and we will book a follow up appointment with your practitioner as soon as possible if required.

FAQs

How much does it cost?

The cost of lip fillers completely depends on how much filler is needed. This will be discussed during an in depth consultation with a member of the team, and the best product will be decided on in each individual case. Prices are:

£150 for a half a ml
£200 for one ml

Does the procedure hurt?

The lips are a very sensitive area to treat, which is why, at Face Medical Clinic, we use a numbing cream or injection to minimise the pain during the procedure. You may feel the needle slightly, but pain will be minimal.

What do my lips look like immediately afterwards?

Immediately after treatment, your lips will be slightly sore and a little bit swollen. Aftercare advice will be given to you to take home and a cool compress applied before you leave the clinic.

How long does it last for?

Depending on which products are used, the time that results lasts can vary. Standard products last up to 6 months, and premium products can last up to 12.
