Is Heliocare suitable for the face and body?
Heliocare products are formulated for use on both the face and body, offering broad-spectrum protection against UVA, UVB, visible light, and infrared-A. While some products are specifically designed for facial application – with added benefits like anti-ageing ingredients or a tinted finish – there are also options suitable for larger body areas. Their lightweight, non-greasy textures make them easy to apply and comfortable to wear, whether you’re at home, at work, or outdoors. At Face Medical, we’ll help you choose the right products to suit your lifestyle and ensure full-body protection where needed.
Is Heliocare suitable for sensitive skin?
Heliocare offers a range of formulations specifically designed for sensitive or reactive skin types. These products are free from common irritants and are dermatologically tested to minimise the risk of adverse reactions. Many Heliocare sunscreens contain mineral-only filters, which are gentler on delicate or post-procedure skin. The inclusion of Fernblock® also helps reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, making it ideal for those with rosacea, eczema, or other sensitivity concerns. During your consultation at Face Medical, we’ll assess your skin’s needs to ensure you’re using a product that protects without causing irritation.
Why is SPF required on cloudy days or during colder months?
SPF is essential year-round, even on cloudy or cold days. Up to 80% of UVA rays can penetrate clouds and glass, meaning your skin is still exposed even when the sun isn’t visible. UVA rays contribute to premature ageing, pigmentation, and skin cancer, and are present throughout the day, all year long. Cold temperatures don’t reduce this risk. Using a daily SPF like Heliocare ensures ongoing protection, helping maintain the results of aesthetic treatments and supporting overall skin health – regardless of the season or weather. It’s a small daily step with significant long-term benefits.
Does my consultation need to be in person?
While we highly recommend an in-person consultation at our Heywood clinic for the most accurate skin assessment, we do understand that schedules and travel may be a concern. In some cases, we can offer virtual consultations, where one of our experienced practitioners will discuss your skin type, concerns, and goals via telephone or video call. This allows us to recommend suitable Heliocare products and create a tailored skincare plan from the comfort of your home. However, for certain skin conditions or pre-treatment planning, an in-person visit may still be advised for optimal care.
